Quaderno gives you four places to make sense of your trading, each answering a different question. This overview explains what each surface is for and when to reach for it — each one has its own detailed guide linked below.
| Surface | The question it answers | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | "How am I doing right now?" | Today / recent |
| Analytics | "What do my results say about my edge?" | Historical, filterable |
| Reports | "How do I get this out of Quaderno?" | Any range, exportable |
| Simulations | "What could happen next?" | Forward-looking |
Dashboard
Your at-a-glance home screen. The Dashboard surfaces what matters today — your running P&L, how today's trades line up with your plan, how much risk budget you have left, current streaks, and anything that needs attention (open positions, upcoming option expirations, overtrading pace).
Use it as your daily check-in: open it before and during your session to stay oriented and disciplined. It's a live snapshot, not a deep historical study.
Learn more in the Dashboard guide.
Analytics
Your performance deep-dive. The Analytics page analyzes your closed trades across whatever slice you choose — filter by date range, account, asset class, side, outcome, grade, or status — and breaks the results down many ways: summary stats and win rate, equity curve with drawdown bands, a calendar heatmap, P&L / R-multiple / duration distributions, edge quality (SQN and breakeven win rate), how your edge is trending over time, drawdown episodes, risk-per-trade consistency, symbol concentration, plan-compliance correlation, and per-dimension breakdowns.
Use it for periodic review — weekly, monthly, or whenever you want to understand whether your strategy is working and where.

Reports
Where you turn your data into a shareable or archivable document. Pick a template — Monthly summary, Mentor Pack, a Custom report, a raw CSV export, or the Realized Gains & Losses (tax) report — set your date range and account, and Quaderno generates it in the background. Completed reports appear in My Reports to download (PDF or CSV) whenever you need them.
Use it when you want something outside the app: a PDF to review or send to a mentor, a CSV to open in a spreadsheet, or a Form 8949 / Schedule D-style summary to hand your accountant.
Learn more in the Reports guide. (Tax reports are informational only and are not tax advice — review them with a qualified preparer.)
Simulations
Forward-looking "what could happen" tools, kept separate from your historical results. Simulations includes a Monte Carlo projection — which resamples your historical per-trade results to model the range of possible future equity paths and your risk of ruin — and Kelly / optimal-f position sizing, which suggests how much to risk per trade based on your measured edge. It has its own filter bar so you can choose which history to project from.
Use it to stress-test expectations and sizing before you act.

Which surface should I use?
- Starting your trading day? → Dashboard
- Reviewing how your strategy is performing? → Analytics
- Need a file to keep, share, or hand to an accountant? → Reports
- Planning ahead or sizing positions? → Simulations
A quick note on data: Dashboard, Analytics, and Reports are built from your closed (realized) trades, and returns use a time-weighted method so deposits and withdrawals don't distort them. Most surfaces honor the same filters (date range, account, and more), so you can focus on exactly the slice you care about.
